JOB DESCRIPTION:

Logistics Manager – Food
The management of all the activities and cost involved in the Dispatch and Distribution function of delivering product from farm or raw material from supplier to the production facility; and to all customers including Distribution centers.
Plan daily logistical tasks with technical manager, production manager and receiving manager
Management of the Dispatch and Distribution teams to ensure that the products that are produced are staged according to customer order specifications (quality, quantity, within temperature and with correct labelling and date coding)
Coordinating drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys per day
Developing and confirming schedules for loading, offloading, truck utilization and driver utilization
Monitoring the quality, quantity and cost efficiency of the movement and storage of stock
Monitoring vehicle economics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Reporting of any insufficiencies and rectifying measures.
Liaise with Sales for Customer Support and efficient service delivery of goods
Managing the vehicle fleet and staff (Coordinating, controlling, tracking and communicating with drivers) to ensure that all orders and raw material are delivered on time and in full, within customer specification
Work closely with the rest of the logistics and business to ensure the delivery of integrated supply chain services which meets the business objectives of the company
Lead the logistics team towards meeting strategic objectives and targets through regular communication and guidance
Ensure all logistics operations are operated in full compliance to all relevant company and National legal standards regarding Health and Safety and Food Safety Environment
Retention of good employee’s, follow disciplinary and performance management processes according to company standards
Ensure that employees are adequately trained and developed to meet the need of the job
Maintain a stable Industrial Relations climate through a constructive relationship with employees and all stake holders
Compile/Manage the logistics budget to ensure lowest cost distribution and optimal utilization of assets
Management and control capital and operating costs and immovable assets within the scope of responsibility
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• National Diploma/Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Management
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• 3-5 years’ Fleet management experience
• 1 - 2 years’ experience in managing a team of experienced personnel
• Demonstrated people leadership and competency to manage a widely spread staff

Salary - R500 - R600kpa
