Logistics Controller

SUMMARY:
Logistics Controller_Required for Our Client providing animal management, security, fuel systems and contract manufacturing solutions to various sectors to administer the Logistics Sales Order Entry Function, processing of Security Licences and dealing with Walk-in Customers whilst supporting the Logistics Manager

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Role:

Administration of the Logistics Sales Order Entry function, processing of Security Licenses and handling walk-in customer sales.  The position reports to the Logistics Manager in the Supply Chain Department

Qualifications / Education:

• Matric – Grade 12
• Logistics diploma
• Minimum 2 years logistics experience

Experience / Skills:

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) at an intermediate level of experience
• Logistics system experience
• Ability to effectively carry out multiple tasks simultaneously
• Accurate, methodical with a strong focus on attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Team player

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• SAP experience in Supply Chain/Logistics
• Supply Chain qualification or studies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to deal with the role requirements in a pro-active and timely manner

Accountabilities and Outcomes / Expectations:

• Sales Document Management
• Creation of the following sales documents for customers as required
  • Sales orders & picking lists
  • Quotations
  • Returns
  • Debit memo requests
  • Credit memo requests
  • Up front management of these documents including liaison with customers. Ensure orders are correct and complete before picking, and that shipping times and issues are communicated to the customer
  • Hand on orders to the Logistics Manager for picking, packing and dispatch
  • Liaison with Finance for the billing of sales documents as is appropriate

• Security Licences:
• Liaison with customers ensure configuration forms are completed fully
• Send SOM (NZ) completed configuration forms along with the related sales order and ensure any queries are resolved in a timely fashion to get licenses issued promptly to customers
• Advise Finance that the licenses are being processed so they can oversee the billing (done by SOM) to completion

• Internal Sales – Walk in Customers:
• Provide sales assistance for walk in customers to point of placing orders
• Enter sales orders relating to these orders
• Liaise with Finance to arrange payment of goods
• Pass orders onto the Logistics to pick and pack to packing slip
• Liaise with Finance to obtain invoice and proof of payment
• Ensure goods are passed to customer along with all appropriate information required

• Back up for Logistics Manager:

Provide backup for Logistics Manager to oversee the warehouse and picking, packing and dispatch of goods

• Open Order Review:
• Review total demand on Sales Orders
• Agree customer order priorities with the Sales teams
• Attend weekly operations meeting

• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify and highlight areas for improvement along with possible solutions to the wider team
• Active involvement in helping to solve departmental issues
• Assistance, guidance and active involvement in project work

• Procedures:
• Follow local and corporate policies as advised from time to time
• Creation and ongoing maintenance of relevant local procedures
• Gain approval of any procedural changes before implementation
• Ensure that all updated procedures are uploaded into the Document Management System
