SUMMARY:
Our client, based in Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a Logistics & Fabric Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The company provides bespoke services that integrate third-party logistics, procurement, and other administrative services to a UK based group of companies, predominantly manufacturers of high-end bespoke furniture, catering primarily to the Interior Design and Architectural sectors.
As a Logistics Assistant, with occasional responsibilities in Fabric Purchasing, you will be expected to uphold the company’s high service standards. This includes planning reliable transportation and efficient installation services, ensuring tight schedules are met by liaising with production teams and fabric suppliers, and performing administrative tasks to maintain deadlines.

Responsibilities:
Logistics Assistant:
- Liaise internally with Projects, Production, Install, Design, Procurement, and Sales teams.
- Build and maintain relationships externally with Clients and Suppliers.
- Coordinate with Contractors, Warehouses, and Freight forwarders.
- Organise deliveries and assist with planning shipping schedules. Growth will entail project managing installations, including high-end luxury residential and eventually FFE/contract projects.
- Handle CSI (post-delivery Customer Service Issue) and associated reverse logistics.
Administrative:- Manage courier requirements, fleet maintenance, constantly updating production scheduler system, invoice clients for pre & post-delivery payments, prepare shipping documentation.
Fabric Purchasing:- Assist with general fabric purchasing.
- Following up with suppliers and updating expected delivery dates on internal production scheduler.
- Collaborating with Projects and Logistics teams on delayed fabrics.
- Assist with imports of fabrics shipped across borders, handling import duties and cross-billing clients.
Requirements & Attributes:- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective yet friendly communication and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and flexible team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel for load planning, costings, data interpretation etc.
- Ability to read technical production drawings and architectural plans.
- Client-facing professionalism and calm handling of challenging situations.
