POSITION INFO:

Short Summary:

The main responsibility of this position is to take charge of a production line and its small team. This position will assist the Shift Supervisor regarding the tasks mentioned below to ensure all products are packed according to a planned schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Pack product according to Production Schedule as instructed by Management.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor with the setup of all line equipment and take charge of changeovers on production lines if needed.
• Report any deviations or challenges faced to the Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure Oil Supply Line is optimally controlled through correct selection.
• Effective operation of the production line and ensure maximum line efficiencies throughout the shift.
• Fault finding and reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
• Effectively handling machine downtime.
• Ensure downtime is minimized by ensuring any unknown deviations are reported immediately.
• Assisting Shift Supervisor with corrective actions during downtime.
• Report maintenance issues to the Shift Supervisor/ Packaging Plant Manager and Maintenance Team.
• Ensure the final product is packed in the correct configuration during palletizing.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor as and when instructed to do so.
• Ensure all damaged material is stored in the correct identified container and reported accurately.
• Ensure all unused materials are identified, quantified, and returned to stores after production.
• Ensure continuous process and quality checks are being performed by him/ herself and the team.
• Ensure effective housekeeping in his/ her area of responsibility.
• Comply to the Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental Procedures and as per the SOILL Policy.
• Responsible for leading and motivating a small team of line workers.
• Effective time management of the line workers and team.
• Available for all training as required and scheduled by Management.
• Any other reasonable relevant task allocated by the Shift Supervisor or the Packaging Plant Manager.

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Valid Forklift Driving License
• Proven FMCG Operator/ Technical experience
• Leadership/ Supervisory experience will be an advantage

• Must be able to lead a small team
• Good time management
• Disciplined and reliable
