SUMMARY:
Line German Systems Engineer (Cape Town CBD)
POSITION INFO:
The 1st line Systems Engineer will form part of a dynamic team of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Line Engineers based in Cape Town, delivering SLA-backed services remotely as part of our technical support offering. Reporting to the Service Desk Team Leader, this role requires a proactive, collaborative team member who is very technically minded and able to work European standard office hours, as per customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
vLogging and progressing services desk support tickets (incidents, service requests & changes) through our MSP systems.
vProvide remote 1st/2nd line technical IT support.
vTroubleshoot and resolve hardware and software related incidents based on Microsoft systems.
vResolve incidents within agreed first-time-fix parameters and escalate within the team where required, complying with contracted SLAs.
vTake ownership of incidents and manage through to resolution where possible.
vAttend to pro- and reactive monitoring alerts in order to ensure minimum disruption to customers.
vMeet client expectations in terms of quality of work and delivery to deadlines.
vAction customer enquiries effectively in a timely fashion as per prescribed SLA.
vFollow-up activities to resolution and to customer satisfaction.
vProduce information reports upon request.
vBuild and maintain reputation & customer relationships.
Requirements:
vNative German & Fluent in English.
vExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
vTechnical understanding of current industry-leading technologies.
vCustomer relations skills; ability to understand and comprehend customer concerns and requirements.
vA desire for continuous learning and career development.
vAbility to work in, and as part of a team.
vSA citizen, permanent resident or right to employment in South Africa (Work Visa).
Required Skills & Experience:
vMatric or equivalent secondary education.
v1 year experience in an IT Service Desk environment providing 1st/2nd line support.
v1 year experience supporting Microsoft Systems; Desktop, Server, Office, etc.
v1 year exposure to basic TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, SSL VPN troubleshooting.
vExposure to HP & Dell hardware technologies.
