SUMMARY:
Legal Advisor

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Skills/Requirements:

Must have completed matric;
At least 1-year legal experience and a completed qualification alternatively;
3 years’ legal work experience and currently studying LLB;
Needs to be an admitted attorney;
High levels of accuracy;
High level of attention to detail;
High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Discretion in handling confidential matters;
Excellent judgment and ability to anticipate legal issues or risks;
Overall broad legal knowledge and understanding of legal issues;
Shorthand and excellent typing skills- Good computer literacy, speed and accuracy essential.
(MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint);
Excellent organisational skills;
Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;

Key Results Areas

Provide legal advice and services to the organisation;
Review commercial and employment contracts;
Deal with intellectual property;
Company secretarial work;
Assist with trial preparation;
Assist with reviewing legal material;
Assist with providing comprehensive legal solutions;
Assist in mitigating legal risk;
Conduct legal research and analysis;
Help manage output, workflow and office deadlines;
Undertake any other duties as requested by the management team;
Preparing and filing reports.
Drafting legal documents.
Reviewing new business relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Guiding managers on regulatory and compliance matters.
Investigate if the company or a staff member does not comply with the law – Whistleblowing hotline.
Ensure the company complies and submits all its legal paperwork.
Understand the business and the industry
