Legal & Compliance Manager

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal Management

• Draft, review, and manage contracts across all business units
• Support contract negotiations, including commercial and strategic agreements
• Provide legal advice on operational and strategic matters
• Manage litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations
• Coordinate external legal counsel and manage associated costs
• Maintain contract management systems and legal documentation

2. Compliance Management

• Develop and implement company-wide compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify potential gaps
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure organisational alignment
• Lead compliance investigations and incident management processes
• Oversee key compliance areas, including:
  • Corporate governance
  • Data privacy and protection
  • Employment law compliance
  • Anti-corruption and competition law
• Deliver compliance training and awareness initiatives across the organisation

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations teams
• Provide legal and compliance support across all business functions
• Liaise with regional and global legal/compliance teams
• Engage with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders

4. Projects & Strategic Initiatives

• Support the development and implementation of compliance programmes
• Lead or contribute to internal and external audits
• Support major business transactions and strategic initiatives
• Drive process improvements and compliance system enhancements

5. Reporting & Knowledge Management

• Prepare legal and compliance reports for management
• Maintain legal documentation, templates, and policy frameworks
• Develop and manage internal knowledge-sharing platforms
• Track and report on compliance performance and risk metrics

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
• Admission as an Attorney or relevant legal qualification (preferred)
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in legal and compliance roles
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, electronics, or multinational environments (preferred)
• Exposure to cross-border or multinational operations is advantageous
