CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To teach Natural, Physical and Life Sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to supervise research students and contribute to faculty administration as required.

• Participate in faculty administration

• Facilitation of learning
• Facilitation of teaching students how to teach Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences in B Ed IP, B Ed SP/FET and PGCE programmes
• A sound knowledge of strategies for assessing learning in Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences
• Ability to adapt Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences teaching to the diversity of interests and aptitudes of students
• Ability to develop teaching materials in Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences
• Active presentation of research papers at conferences for senior lecturer

• Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and decolonization of Sciences Education.

REQUIREMENTS

• A PhD in Education for Senior Lecturer plus 1-5 years of relevant working experience.    
• M Ed or equivalent for Lecturer
• Proven research record for Senior Lecturer
• Experience in supervising M and D students for Senior Lecturer
• Experience in teaching Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences at school level
• Experience in teaching Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences at university level will be an added advantage
• A sound disciplinary and content knowledge in Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences
• Possession of academic qualifications in Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences
• Research outputs in the field of Natural, Physical and/or Life Sciences for Senior Lecturer
