CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To teach Curriculum Studies at undergraduate and post graduate level.

To contribute to Faculty administration as required.

To be able to develop and lead Curriculum Development as a niche area in the Faculty.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Facilitate the teaching and learning of Curriculum Development in the Faculty from undergraduate to a post graduate level.
• Conduct, publish and promote research in the field of Curriculum Studies.
• Participate in academic engagement
• Participate in Faculty administration

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Facilitate the teaching and learning of Curriculum Development in the Faculty from undergraduate to a post graduate level.
• A sound knowledge of Curriculum Development that includes, curriculum analysis, curriculum policy, curriculum planning, curriculum implementation, curriculum management and curriculum assessment and evaluation.
• Be able to lead and develop curriculum as a niche area

• Sound technological expertise, including a sound knowledge of integrating and facilitating teaching and learning in technology enabled environment platforms.

• Ability to adapt teaching of Curriculum Studies to accommodate a diversity of experience and context
• Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanisation and decolonization of Curriculum Studies

REQUIREMENTS

• PHD degree in Education for Senior Lecturer
• M Ed or equivalent for Lecturer
• Experience in teaching education related content as well as Curriculum Studies at a university level will be an added advantage.
• A sound disciplinary and content knowledge in education related modules or curriculum studies
• Demonstrate ability to teach and assess in technology enabled environment

• Qualification and/or experiences must reflect a sound knowledge of Curriculum Development that should include curriculum analysis, curriculum policy, curriculum planning, curriculum implementation, curriculum management and curriculum assessment and evaluation.

• Possession of academic qualifications in education related field or curriculum studies
• Experience in supervising or co-supervising students at post graduate level for Senior Lecturer
• Proven research record for Senior Lecturer
