CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in the discipline of architectural Technology, by integrating theoretical and pragmatic knowledge that is locally and globally relevant and in alignment with the vision of the department and the university

• Facilitate the learning process in the department
• Conduct and publish research

• Perform administration

CORE COMPETENCIES

• In-depth knowledge of the theory and application of the discipline of Architectural Technology
• In-depth knowledge of AUTOCAD, REVIT and/or 3Dsmax. Have an understanding of  advanced building construction concepts, technology, techniques and systems
• Have an understanding of basic sustainable design principals. The potential to contribute to knowledge creation by virtue of publications and/or the potential to contribute by virtue of the introduction of new learning material
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

REQUIREMENTS

• Lecturer - Preference will be given to candidates who possess a M Tech (Architectural Technology) or M Arch degree or equivalent degree, with at least 2 years of relevant professional practice experience.

• Associate Lecturer - Preference will be given to candidates who possess a relevant BTech (Architectural Technology) for appointment as Associated Lecturer with at least five years relevant practical experience as well as the relevant professional registration.
• The applicant must submit their academic results and an A3 portfolio of selected work undertaken in private practice.
• SACAP registration is required - It is compulsory in terms of teaching at an Accredited Learning Site (SACAP ruling).
