CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate the learning process in basic Financial Management, Financial Accounting and related subject areas to students studying on qualification programmes within the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences on the George Campus.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Facilitate the learning process in Financial Management, Financial Accounting and related subject areas (by taking responsibility for course material, lectures, tutorials and setting and moderating assessments) to students studying on qualification programmes within the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences on the George Campus.

• Perform related administrative duties.

• A sound knowledge in the theory and application of introductory Financial Management, Financial Accounting and related subject areas in a South African context.
• Potential to facilitate learning for extended diploma programme students.
• Very strong communication (written / verbal) skills.
• Initiative and the motivation to work without needing extensive supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong administrative skills.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for the above post, candidates must:

FOR THE ASSOCIATE LECTURER POST:

1. possess a relevant NQF Level 8 qualification (Honours, Postgraduate Diploma or BTech) with Financial Accounting and Financial Management as core.

2. It is recommended that a candidate be a Professional Accountant (South Africa) or Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and in good standing with the relevant professional body (or in the final year of obtaining the designation).

FOR THE LECTURER POST:

1. possess a relevant NQF Level 8 qualification (Honours, Postgraduate Diploma or BTech) with Financial Accounting and Financial Management as core; AND
2. be a Professional Accountant (South Africa) or Chartered Accountant (South Africa) in good standing with the relevant professional body (or in the final year of obtaining the designation).
