CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate teaching and learning in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to contribute to the administration of the department as needed, and to undertake research.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Develop course material for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching modules
• Specialise in Functional Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Discreet Mathematics or Engineering Mathematics
• Perform teaching-related and departmental administrative duties
• Conduct research and publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
• Interact with relevant industry groups, government departments and independent research institutes to further the goals of the Department and of the University.
• Participate in community services.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Demonstrated abilities to teach undergraduate students.
• Developing research and publication record.
• Ability to work with and contribute to a team effort.

REQUIREMENTS

Lecturer

• Minimum a MSc. relevant to the field of Mathematics

• Evidence of successful teaching at all levels and throughput
