- A 4-year BEng degree in Industrial Engineering, or a 4-year Engineering qualification which includes the discipline of computer engineering
- A relevant Masters (a minimum mark of 70%)
- A doctoral degree would be an added advantage
- In the case of an Engineering qualification, Professional registration with ECSA as a Technologist/Engineer or eligibility to register within a period of three years
- 5 years appropriate industry experience, in varied industries would be an added advantage.
Preference will be given to suitably qualified Engineers with experience in some of the following fields:
- Engineering education,
- Course development,
- Life-cycle engineering (HSI, MBSE)
- Advanced manufacturing technologies and power sources
- Inventor, Scada (or similar)
- AMH systems
- Internet of Things
- Automated manufacturing systems (PLC, CNC, Robotics)
The successful candidate should be able to facilitate modules in the following fields: (under-graduate and post-graduate level): Engineering materials, Advanced Engineering materials, CAD, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Applied Systems Engineering Candidates who are invited for an interview may be required to present a lecture on a topic provided by the department.
