CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To teach in the Foundation Phase.

To contribute to faculty administration as required.

• Facilitate the learning processes in the faculty
• Conduct, publish and promote research
• Participate in academic engagement
• Participate in faculty administration

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Facilitation of learning
• Facilitation of teaching subject areas in the Foundation Phase
• A sound knowledge of strategies for assessing learning in Foundation Phase
• Ability to adapt teaching to the diversity of interests and aptitudes of students
• Ability to develop teaching materials for Foundation Phase teaching

• Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and decolonization

REQUIREMENTS

• M Ed or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant working experience
• Experience in teaching multilingual literacy (IsiXhosa, English, Afrikaans), Numeracy and Life Skills in Foundation Phase at school level
• Possession of academic qualifications in teaching in the Foundation Phase

• A sound disciplinary content knowledge in multilingual literacy (isiXhosa, English, Afrikaans), Numeracy and Life Skills
• Research outputs in the Foundation Phase field will be an added advantage
