CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To facilitate students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in the discipline of architectural Technology, by integrating theoretical and pragmatic knowledge that is locally and globally relevant and in alignment with the vision of the department and the university

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Facilitate the learning process in the department
• Conduct and publish research
• Perform academic engagement
• Perform administration

CORE COMPETENCIES

• A sound knowledge of advanced building construction concepts, technology, techniques and systems
• A sound knowledge of sustainable design principles.
• A sound knowledge of the theory and application of the discipline of Architectural Technology
• Working knowledge of AUTOCAD
• Have the potential to contribute to knowledge creation by virtue of publications and/or the potential to contribute by virtue of the introduction of new learning material
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

REQUIREMENTS

• To be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must have:

a relevant M Tech (Architectural Technology) or M Arch degree or equivalent degree, with at least 5 years of relevant professional practice experience

• Professional registration with SACAP as Professional Architect.
• The applicant must submit their academic results and an A3 portfolio of selected work undertaken in private practice.
• 2 years relevant and / or related working experience
