POSITION INFO:

Learning and Development Officer - Cape Town - R45 000 - R60 000 per month

Food Manufacturing/Processing Plant seeks a dynamic, innovative, customer centric individual to join the Training and Development team at to identify training needs across all business units and to conduct training at all business units, as well as assess the effectiveness of training interventions, methodologies and systems and provide feedback. Assist and support roll out and implementation of all development initiatives.

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in relevant field:  HRD/HR/Social Sciences

Minimum of 2 years operational experience in HR Development or facilitation

BTech / Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field:  HRD/HR/Social Sciences Skills Development Facilitation

Assessor, Moderator, Train the Trainer certification

3 - 5 years operational experience in HR Development or facilitation

The successful candidate should be adaptable, have solid planning and organisation skills, be deadline driven and have time management skills.

Strategy

Remain up to date with legislation and the industry in general

Provide input into the business plan

Training Facilitation and Administration

Conduct training needs analysis for the business unit.

Compile and implement departmental skills matrixes.

Ensure the design, development, amendment, and delivery of training is in line with business requirements.

Delivery of On the Job (OTJ) training on factory floor and e-learning system.

Responsible for the design and creation of the training material for E-Learning and On the Job (OJT) inhouse programmes.

Work closely with production managers to address any skills gaps and developmental focus areas.

Ensure continuous improvement of training content, methodologies, and delivery of adjusted programmes as required

Coordinate, implement and report on the employee induction programmes

Manage and implement development initiatives such as employee bursary process talent development programmes including learnerships, trainees, graduates, apprenticeships, and other work experience programmes in line with business requirements

Coordinate and implement career awareness events and activities

Development of and facilitation of Employee Awareness sessions relating to HR Policy and Procedure amongst others

Reporting

Collate and submit reports

File documents per procedure

Finance Management         

Input into training and development budget

Assess, review, and authorize payment in line with budget and policy

Stakeholder Relations        

Establish, monitor, and manage healthy, diverse, workable internal and external relationships, including the interface with external providers to ensure functional needs are met and organisational goals achieved

Risk and Compliance

Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures

Ensure remedial actions is implemented timeously to address non-conformances.

Ensure effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees
