Lead Test Engineer required for a company in Edinburgh.
This company is well-known for their high quality level of work, creating bespoke solutions from enterprise level platforms to mobile applications for some global clients. Every day is (genuinely!) different, with an incredible variety of projects, technologies and tools to get stuck into.
You''ll be based within a supportive, collaborative environment that will allow you to develop and grow, whilst at the same time giving you free reign (within reason!) to develop the testing as you see fit.
The technical teams tend to be set-up with around 5/6 Developers, a Product Owner, UX Developer and a Test Engineer. As the Lead Test Engineer within a team, you''ll be expected to really get into the product, explore and understand the needs, before deciding how to test, what the testing strategy will be, and then implementing the testing. You will also be overseeing several Testers with various skillsets, experience levels and interests who may be working across several different projects.
Day to day the hands-on testing will be a mixture of manual and automation testing, requiring someone with experience setting up automation test frameworks. Because of the variety of work, the team are pretty tech agnostic, but the following skills/experience would be useful:
** Agile environment
** Manual testing
** Automation testing and creating automation test scripts from scratch
** API and UI testing
** Making key decisions around testing, including the test strategy
** Client-facing experience would be a bonus
** Mentoring and leading Testers

The salary on offer is between £50,000 - £60,000 depending on your level of experience. They are also focused on creating a strong work-life balance, so overtime is actively discouraged.
Right now the team are working remotely, but when they are able to, they would be keen to get the team back into the Edinburgh City Centre office for a minimum of 3 days per week.
