Laboratory Analyst

The Analyst is responsible for delivering outputs for key accounts. This includes:

•  Conducting the analysis
• Interpretation of data
• Releasing of test results
• Keeping client informed telephonically or by email
• Quality control
• PT scheme participation
• Becoming a technical signatory
• Working overtime and weekends on short notice

Requirements:

•  Relevant tertiary qualification.
• At least 10 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory environment that conducts analysis on foodstuffs and a broad range of other products.
• Experience in a range of analytical testing including wet chemistry methods.
• Experience in ISO17025 is a must, experience as a technical signatory will be an advantage.
• Working knowledge of and experience in operating and maintaining an HPLC.
• Data interpretation and report writing.
• Method development and validation, including concomitant compiling and documenting methods.
• Knowledge and competence in using all Microsoft packages including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook and Internet.
