Laboratory Administrator

Our leading client in the Pharmaceutical space is looking to hire an experienced Laboratory Administrator. The successful incumbent will be responsible for all administration in the laboratory, identify problem areas and finding workable solutions to re-establishing functionality. POSITION INFO:

The Ideal Candidate

• Must have +4 years’ experience in Laboratory Administration.
• Must have a minimum of + 3 years Procurement and administration experience.
• Must have a minimum of 2-years’ experience in assisting laboratory functions.
• Must come from the Medical or Pharmaceutical industry.
• Must have extensive Microsoft Office knowledge essential.

Duties include:

• Assist with waste management as per SOP in collaboration with the Laboratory supervisor.
• Verify and process laboratory supplier documents in collaboration with the QA Manager.
• Obtain quotations and order all reagents, reference standards, columns, laboratory glassware and consumables in collaboration with the Laboratory supervisor.
• Obtain quotations and order office stationery and consumables in collaboration with admin personnel.
• Booking in of all laboratory consumables, reagents, standard, columns, glassware and checking it against original PO.
• Obtain quotations of all laboratory work to be contracted out to a 3rd party of service provider.
• Obtain permission from clients to outsource testing or order standards on their behalf.
• Generate POs for laboratory in-house buying or on behalf of a client.
• Arrange for calibration on various instruments in collaboration with the Laboratory supervisor.
• Keep track of reagents and standard expires and checking quantities available.
• Assist in registering of stability samples with laboratory personnel and laboratory supervisor.
• Create quotes for consumables and outsourced analysis for clients on testing needed.
• Arranging for samples to be sent to 3rd party service providers via applicable couriers.
• Keeping date and organise audits of service providers and suppliers.
• General filing of documentation as per job responsibilities.
• Perform and maintain archiving of documents.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualification – Matric + Procurement / Administration qualification.
