SUMMARY:
Lab Analyst (Johannesburg)

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities/Objectives:

vResponsible for the testing and evaluation of all incoming finished product in accordance with current standards and regulatory requirements, using instrumental and non-instrumental techniques.
vResponsible for calibration and preventative maintenance of Laboratory Equipment and Instrumentation.
vResponsible for On-the-job training of New Analysts and for supervising the training program for the Laboratory Cleaners.
vResponsible for demonstration of Good Laboratory Practice in accordance with current AB standards, GMP and Regulatory Requirements.

Core Job Responsibilities/Business/Functional Responsibilities:

vAssists with the co-ordination of the QC function.
vAssists with the planning of the analysis program for all incoming finished products.
vAssists with method transfer for all new products.
vAssists with preparation of approved specifications for laboratory releases.
vResponsible for the maintenance program of the balances, including liaison with Third Party Calibrators, calibration of mass pieces and daily maintenance.
vResponsible for On-the-job training of New Analysts and for supervising the training program for the Laboratory Cleaners.

 

vChemical evaluation of finished products.
vMaintenance of instrumentation.
vPrepare records and reports.
vMonitor compliance with laboratory BOP''s and Global Policies and Procedures.

Education: 

vBachelor of Science degree (majoring in chemistry) or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent qualification).

 

Experience: 

vAt least three years laboratory experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing/quality environment.
vTertiary courses in GLP, GMP and other quality related subjects.
vLiteracy in the following software packages: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
vKnowledge of current legislation governing quality of medicines, complimentary medicines and medical devices.
vKnowledge of other legal requirements impacting the quality.
vOwn car and valid driver’s license are essential for this position.
