LOGISTICS / OPERATIONS MANAGER

SUMMARY:
A busy steel merchant requires an energetic person to oversee the logistical side of the business.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent
• Completed Logistics or related degree or diploma

Experience and Requirements:

• 10 or more years’ recent working experience in a fast paced Logistics / Operations environment
• Computer literate: Word and Excel Spreadsheets (advanced skills)
• Be fit and energetic
• Reside on the East Rand
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
• A stable work record and have contactable references

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning of and controlling of loads
• Stock Control
• Fleet control of 70 vehicles
• Route planning
• Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to.
• General housekeeping duties
• Overseeing deliveries and collections
• Monitoring daily activities throughout the warehouse
• Manage daily and monthly costs.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience implementing Systems
• Report writing and keeping the Directors and Management informed
• Daily reporting to Management
• Supervising over staff
• Be fit and energetic and able to work on your feet 80% of the day
