LOGISTICS ENGINEER (EE)

SUMMARY:
Join a large retailer in Cape Town as an experienced Logistics Engineer.

POSITION INFO:

• Initiating and implementing new logistics engineering projects across the supply chain for the group
• Working cross functionally with the DC and the Delivery team
• Team to optimise total logistics cost and delivery lead-time
• Initiating new logistics projects within the logistics network to reduce labour cost and improve efficiency
• Reducing material handling & packaging cost through engineering projects within the DC
• Benchmarking with other retailers and e-commerce businesses to improve operations and reduce logistics cost
• Initiating continuous improvement projects within the logistics network
• Facilitating logistics tenders with 3PL service providers on both the inbound and outbound logistics network
• Reducing and optimising the inter DC logistics network and hub network costs
• Working collaboratively with the delivery team to optimise the outbound supply chain network.
• Support the submission of the Logistics Budget with regards to Fleet, Pickup points, Hub
• Network expansion, Capex projects and other related items
