SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Learning & Development Manager to lead the setup and management of our internal Training Academy and drive a robust skills development agenda aligned to business strategy and compliance requirements.
The incumbent will also oversee the Health and Safety function, ensuring alignment between compliance requirements, audit findings, and the implementation of targeted corrective training.

Duties & Responsibilities
Training Academy Setup & Management
- Establish and operationalise the Training Academy, including governance structures, frameworks, and delivery models.
- Develop training calendars, learning paths, and standard operating procedures for the academy.
- Ensure the academy meets industry standards, internal quality metrics, and accreditation requirements.
Learning Strategy & Program Development- Design and implement a learning and development strategy aligned with organisational goals and individual career growth.
- Translate learning needs into structured programs using a blend of in-person, e-learning, and digital delivery methods.
- Curate or develop content and ensure relevance, accessibility, and continuous improvement.
Skills Development & Compliance- Manage all accredited and non-accredited training programs, including learnerships, internships, and bursaries.
- Ensure full compliance with SAQA, SETA, NQF, and B-BBEE Skills Development requirements.
- Prepare and submit Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR) in line with SETA requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management- Collaborate with department heads and leadership to identify learning needs and align training with operational requirements.
- Engage and manage external training providers, SETAs, and other relevant partners.
- Build strong internal relationships to promote a culture of continuous learning.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting- Track, evaluate, and report on training effectiveness, participation, and return on investment (ROI).
- Maintain accurate learning records and generate reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
- Use data insights to enhance learning outcomes and inform future L&D initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in L&D, with at least 2 years in a management or specialist role.
- Strong understanding of SAQA, NQF, SETA, QCTO frameworks, and B-BBEE Skills Development compliance.
