An established organization operating within the manufacturing, industrial, cement, mining, and IT sectors is seeking a dedicated LAN/Network Administrator to join their team in Mpumalanga. What You'll Do:
- Provide technical support for software and hardware across the company
- Perform preventative maintenance on end-user computing equipment
- Deploy, upgrade, and maintain IT equipment to ensure seamless operations
- Support and administer endpoint protection and antivirus software
- Offer first-level support for remote access, VPN, and mobile connectivity
- Manage software licensing compliance and report non-compliance issues
- Verify backups are executing correctly and escalate any failures
- Maintain the IT asset register
- Support LAN/WAN and plant network infrastructure, including network maintenance, upgrades, fault-finding, and performance monitoring
- Support managed switches, TCP/IP networks, VLANs, and network services
- Install, replace, and troubleshoot network cabling
- Assist with server and infrastructure health checks, backups, and maintenance of servers and production systems
- Support telecommunications systems (PABX) and industrial Ethernet, PROFIBUS/PROFINET, and plant communication networks
- Support cybersecurity policies, patching, access control, and vulnerability remediation; report cybersecurity incidents
- Maintain segregation between IT and OT networks
- Log and investigate help desk requests and incidents
- Assist with project planning and execution

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in LAN/WAN and network management
- Proficiency in operating systems, especially Windows
- Knowledge of VPN, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including switches, TCP/IP, VLANs, and cabling
- Experience with cybersecurity practices, patch management, and incident reporting
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
Nice to Have:
- Experience with industrial networks such as PROFIBUS/PROFINET
- Knowledge of server and infrastructure maintenance
- Familiarity with telecommunications systems such as PABX
