LAB TEAM LEADER

Purpose of the role:

To ensure the implementation and adherence to the Quality System by using special problem solving techniques and Statistical Process Control. To assist departments experiencing Quality Problems, control of inspection, Measuring and test equipment, calibration and lab testing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

B-Tech in Quality / Mechanical Eng/Electrical Eng/Chemistry

Minimum Experience:

Three years related experience in Lab testing / Eng Drawing interpretation                                                                                                                  

Related experience in line with relevant Quality, Safety, Health & Environment standards

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES)

 A thorough knowledge of Lab testing equipment / Lab Scopes such as:

• Salt Spray Tester (Corrosion resistance testing)
• Humidity Chamber (Resistance to Humidity & Temperature)
• Climatic Chamber (Thermal shock testing)
• Vibration Tester (Vibration resistance testing)
• Photometric/goniometer (Luminous distribution)
• Torque tools (Torque screw driver verification)
• Dust Chamber (Seal integrity)
• Water Spray Tester
• Microscope (Motic Stereoscope & Olympus Microscope)
• Conventional Ovens (Heat aging tests)
• Force Gauge (Push/Pull strength)
• Electrical Power Supply (Manual Function testing)

Chemical Testing (Various chemicals)

A broad knowledge of Customer specifications / drawings

Knowledge of calibration and Measuring System Analysis

A good understanding of Quality Systems i.e. IATF 16949 / ISO 14000 / MSA
