SUMMARY:
A leading Waste Management company is seeking the services of an Key Accounts Manager to be based at the Germiston Head Office.

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Developing a solid and trusting relationship between major key clients and company. Developing a complete understanding of key account needs. Implements and monitors negotiated contracts on a national and local level.  Liaises with marketing and sales departments to co-ordinate the implementation of contracts.  Establishes contact with industry policymakers and influencers.  Participates and contributes to company pricing and activity policy through a market intelligence guide.

Sales

Assess and identify customer needs on a continuous basis:

  • Focus on determining and managing key accounts in order to accomplish and advance sales budgets and maximize opportunities to make sales.
  • Operational requirements and customer needs are assessed against marketing/business plan
  • Resources/equipment/facilities are acquired for maximum productivity
  • Maximize profit by up-selling or cross-selling
  • Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders and clients.
  • Manage negotiations and implement required price increases.
  • Manage strategic projects and bring to fruition.

Review Customer Services:

  • Resolving key client issues and complaints
  • Meeting deliverables according to proposed timelines
  • Regular feedback sessions are held with customers to ensure continual improvement

Customer Liason

 Manage and Co-ordinate all Key Accounts

  • Ensure effective communication between all channels on a national level
  • Liaise between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs.
  • Co-ordination and implementation of all trading agreements
  • Providing advice to new legislation
  • Establishing and overseeing internal budgets with the company and external budgets with the client

 Strategic Negotiations

  • Develop and maintain strategic alliances with senior management of all key accounts
  • Ensuring all strategic negotiations become operationally visible through daily interaction and communication with sales management
  • Ensuring adherence to new legislation
  • Explore new key account opportunities
  • Anticipating key account changes and improvements and propose IW solutions where applicable.

Financial

  • Prepare Budgets according to operational requirements.
  • Understand IW share of wallet and develop plans to increase IW share and profitability.

Mentorship and Skills Transference

  • Ensure all subordinates and colleagues are up-skilled and ensure transference of skills through mentorship and coaching,
  • Provide training and guidance for new employees and ensure they are assisted.

ADHOC

  • Any other reasonable adhoc duty as required or requested by management.
  • It should be noted that individuals may need to expand their roles / scope to cover the work load of other employees in times of high work loads or individuals whom may be absent from work. This is the sole discretion of management.
Education Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / Degree in environmental management degree would be advantageous

Experience Level

  • 3- 5 years in a similar role
  • Petrochemical Experience
