Key Account Manager

POSITION INFO:

My client a well-known and leading company based in Modderfontein on the East Rand, Gauteng requires a Key Account Manager to join their team.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Key Account Manager will lead and manage the team to to grow and support client activity. The incumbent will have oversight over DTP, Proofreading, Advertising Coordination, Production, and will apply innovative value adding techniques for the on-going strategic maintenance of the account.

In addition, the incumbent will ensure the strategic management of integrating RMS within the customer environment to drive growth, as well as monitor workflow and time management.

The Key Account Manager will need to nurture a healthy work environment with optimum deployment of team resources, facilitate problem solving, monitor the health of the clients’ business within the business unit, deliver bottom line client profitability and grow the clients’ business within the business unit.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Operations

  • Oversees and manages overall efficiencies in the running of the account.
  • Optimum deployment of team resources to deliver bottom line client profitability and client growth.
  • Assist with RMS workflow troubleshooting and support the client and its suppliers.
  • Ensure the team understands and adheres to RMS workflow processes.
  • Ensure that the team manages the work in progress and captures time as per standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that staff continuously update the system with amended CPA dates and mailing queries on jobs to agencies/client as per agreed workflow.
  • Ensure that all material is appropriately archived and is easily retrievable from the RMS Guardbook
  • Be proactive in identifying and solving potential problems in a timely manner.
  • Manage complex projects when required from start to finish.
  • Compile quarterly board reports to share the overall health and status of the business unit with the management team.

 Quality

  • To maintain quality at input and output in an effort to optimise client satisfaction, to brand specifications, print specifications and to the highest standard.
  • Responsible to ensure consistency of quality and accuracy in all work produced.

  • Build and maintain healthy, productive and mutually respectful client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Deliver high standards of client satisfaction and continuously adapt and adjust approaches to benefit account needs.
  • Understand the workflow and job statuses in order to deal with Agencies, Clients, Media & Printers effectively.
  • Ensure communication of any changes in clients’ deliverables to the team.
  • Ensure that Daily Status Report goes to client and agency and inform printers / media of job status and present the report to clients in status meetings.
  • Manage and resolve job escalations at a senior level to ensure the smooth running of the account.

Human Resources

  • Build a strong multi-discipline team that can operate interdependently.
  • Nurture a healthy work environment with and for the team.
  • Train and mentor the team to achieve process improvements for the client and ensure that they understand what their responsibilities are and that they follow workflow procedures.
  • Manage the careers of the team in association with HR which will include conducting formal performance reviews, personal training and development plans and career planning.
  • Participate in the business unit’s manpower planning and recruitment process.
  • Share knowledge and best practice across the teams and the business unit.
  • Constant awareness and adherence to relevant labor legislations.
  • Promotion of employment equity and skills development through a diverse workforce.
  • Adhere to BEE codes of good practice.
