SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior/Mid Merchandiser (Clothing) to join a leading fashion supplier based in Dunkeld, JHB.
POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion, Clothing Production, Retail Buying, or similar
- At least 6 months (full time) work experience in the related field
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiar with design terminology and tech packs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in communicating with buyers and managing basic queries
- Support the team during line showings and follow-up meetings
- Attend line showings, take notes, and help with preparing style briefs
- Send style briefs and ensure accurate follow-through
- Check purchase orders (POs) against indent lists
- Assist with coordinating between design and merchandising teams
- Help track sample development and approvals
- Compare photo samples against CADs and tech packs and attach necessary documentation
- File lab dips, trims, and approvals as directed
- Assist in preparing costing files and maintaining style records
- Help follow up on delivery timelines and sample approvals
- Provide admin support to the QA team, including checking samples and basic report compilation
- File QA documents and assist in preparing sealed samples for warehouse submission
- Help verify order paperwork and chase bulk production samples when needed
