Our client operating within the Financial Services industry is searching for a dynamic and experienced individual to fill their current Junior Trainee Accountant vacancy within their Johannesburg East based finance team. Our client is looking for a suitably qualified Junior Trainee Accountant with at least 12 months’ experience.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree and/or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree and/or National Diploma (NDip) specialising in Accounting
- Minimum 12 months’ working experience involving similar Trainee Accountant roles and responsibilities within any industry
- Valid Driver’s Licence and/or own transport
- Basic Microsoft Excel software skills are highly advantageous
Job description & Skills:
- Preparing the planning pack for Value Added Tax (VAT) calculations
- Ensuring that all monthly client bank statements are correctly processes and managed in accordance with the Pastel accounting software requirements
- Ensuring that journal entries are accurately and timely processed in accordance with the Pastel accounting software requirements
- Managing and maintaining ledgers to ensure that payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors
- Preparing regular financial statements for compilations, audits, and/or independent reviews
- Conducting inventory counts and providing verifications for relevant clients and/or customers
- Ensuring that financial records and financial reports are accurately compiled and efficiently managed while maintaining the data integrity
