SUMMARY:
Junior Test Analyst required for a company in East Kilbride with the focus long-term on automated testing.
POSITION INFO:
A software company in East Kilbride is looking to hire a Junior Test Analyst.
The current technical team is pretty Developer heavy with a couple of Testers in the team now and the company are looking for a Junior Test Analyst to carry out manual testing. The testing function is fairly new to the company so it''s a great opportunity to get involved in developing the testing processes and practices and have real influence over the long-term testing strategy.
As a Junior Test Analyst what''s most important is your keen-ness to learn and ability to be proactive with self-learning. Ideally you will have experience in software testing within a software house or in an environment in which you''ve had some exposure to an Agile way of working. Long-term automated testing will be a focus, so this would be an area you are keen to explore and delve into (even if you have no prior experience!).
You''ll ideally have some of the following skills/experience:
*Agile working practices (or some knowledge of what this means)
*Some experience in manual software testing - ideally across functional testing
*Experience in a software house
*Knowledge of SQL (or willingness to learn)
*ISTQB certification (not essential, but preferred)
*Attention to detail
*Keen to learn new things
Personality-wise, you''ll need to be someone who is enthusiastic and up for a challenge. Collaboration is a huge priority and way of working for this team so you absolutely need to be a strong team-player with the communication skills to back it up.
The company have a very low turnover and have created an ethos that makes it a genuinely great place to work. Part of this is due to the ongoing training and development that is on offer, as well as the opportunity for promotion (so you can develop in terms of seniority, job title and skillset both short and long-term!).
Based in East Kilbride, they have free onsite parking. They can offer a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 as well as a discretionary bonus scheme. Additional benefits include private healthcare, company days out, and flexible working.
Right now they are working remotely and are happy to offer some level of home working post COVID, but would be keen for someone to be in the office at least a few days a week.
