SUMMARY:
Westmead - A Junior Spray Painter is required to support production operations through surface preparation and spray painting activities. Our client operates within a structured production environment focused on coating and finishing manufactured components, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and skills development.
POSITION INFO:
The Junior Spray Painter will assist with the preparation and spray painting of components in line with production requirements.
The role involves supporting senior painters, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and ensuring safety procedures are followed at all times. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring surfaces are correctly prepared and finished to standard. This position offers practical exposure and on-the-job learning within a production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare surfaces prior to painting
- Sand components to required specifications
- Mask areas to protect surfaces not being painted
- Assist with spray painting of components
- Support finishing and touch-up work where required
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects or inconsistencies
- Report quality issues to supervisors
- Maintain tools and basic spray equipment
- Clean and organize the spray area daily
- Follow production schedules and work instructions
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times
- Wear and maintain required protective equipment
- Assist senior staff with general production tasks
