JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is seeking a Junior Service Technician to join their team, based in Port Elizabeth.

The main purpose of this position involves maintaining, servicing and repair to variety of cleaning equipment and machinery (vacuum cleaners, single disk scrubbers, auto scrubbers, high pressure units, etc.) on daily basis. The ability to do fault finding, quoting on repairs, completion of required documentation and ensuring minimum downtime on machines. Liaising with clients and fellow employees.

Requirements:

Grade 10.
Any technical training will be an advantage.
2 -3 years minimum job experience required.
Knowledge of accounting or mathematics.
Be able to pick up heavy machinery.
Driver’s licence.
Able to work overtime.
Able to travel out of town.
Work with tools and equipment - correct use of tools and equipment/ensuring that it remains in good condition.
Technically minded -must be able to understand the mechanical and electrical operation of machines.

Duties and responsibilities:

Efficient and effective repairs - ensuring that repairs to the machines are done correctly the first time.
Manage company vehicle - ensuring it be kept clean and in a good state.
Manage full maintenance contracts - ensuring no or as little as possible down time, minimizing expenditure on machine by doing preventative maintenance.
Do fault finding and quoting on repairs if required.
Read wire diagrams and trace wires on machine.
Administrative tasks.
