Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Organisation  based in Sandton is looking for a full-time Junior Risk Consultant (Underwriting front office)

What you’ll be doing if you get the job:

As a member of our client''s team, the primary focus of your role will include driving the formulation and implementation of the risk model and life claims philosophy, analysis of claims and other data to recommend and implement changes to the risk model, sanctioning new risk strategies, managing relationships and policies with the reinsurers, creating training material and educate risk consultants on industry trends, standards and risk management skills, assisting with the definition of operational processes related to risk management. Your role may change over time, depending on your performance, your needs and the business’s needs.
You’ll work closely with our client''s other business processing teams including policy alterations, finance etc.

Who’ll you report to:

You’ll be based within our client''s Processing division at their head office in Sandton, Johannesburg, and you’ll report to their  Processing Team Leader, who is accountable for their client''s Individual life underwriting front office functions.

MS Office and PC literate • Numeracy • Accuracy typing skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Organised and have the right administrative skills • You are quality driven • You can pay attention to detail as accuracy is important • Ability to work effectively with others and contribute to team task accomplishment • You are able to use effective interpersonal skills to resolve conflict situations • You are able to operate effectively under pressure • You are task and deadline orientated • You have an analytical mind and above average problem-solving techniques • You have a strong sense of ownership
• You have a good time management skills • You are proactive and innovative Qualifications and experience • You must have passed Grade 12 / Matric with Biology, Science, English and Mathematics. • Relevant tertiary qualification: Medical related qualification will be beneficial. • 2-3 years’ experience in life claims and administration industry. Call centre experience would be beneficial. • Knowledge of long-term insurance industry in underwriting • Must have an understanding of the Individual life insurance product ie Life cover, Permanent Disability cover, Temp Income Cover and Critical Illness
