Junior Risk Control Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the insurance industry has made a position available for a Junior Risk Control Engineer.

POSITION INFO:

Location: Houghton, Gauteng

Job Description: To produce risk engineering reports from site visits for the insurance market. Preparation of risk control reports from site visits for identifying all aspects of operational risk compliance with local bylaws and regulations for the client.

• Matric
• 3-year Diploma/Degree in Operational Risk Management/ a technical engineering degree (non-negotiable)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in risk assessments (non-negotiable)
• Qualification in SHEQ (advantageous)
• Full NQF Level Short Term Insurance Qualification (advantageous)
• Similar experience in the short term insurance industry will be a massive advantage
• Must have a basic understanding of the OHS Act and National Building Regulations
• Knowledge of Insurance and the broking industry is required.

Responsibilities: All work is to be checked and signed off by the Manager

Preparation of underwriting reports:

• Local and national travel to sites.
• Gathering fully detailed technical information about the facility.
• Preparing technical reports which will include EML and MPL calculations and recommendations to improve the risk.

Preparation of risk control reports:

• Local and national travel to sites.
• Populating a predetermined template report for completion.

• Gathering fully detailed information on the following aspects:
  • Risk management
  • Fire protection
  • Security
  • Business interruption
  • Safety
  • Transport risk management
