SUMMARY:
Our client, a large International organisation, currently seeks a Junior Quality and Safety Inspector, who will check the quality of incoming and outgoing materials or products for the company, as well as the operational procedures.

POSITION INFO:

This job involves tasks such as running tests, keeping a record of defects, analysing products, and overseeing procedures. Undertaking all safety inspections of the operations and ensuring that SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are followed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Food Technology or Food Science (experience highly desired).
Minimum of 1 years’ experience in Quality Control essential.
ISO9001 training and experience essential.
Calibrate and measure specifications.
Understand technical documents, manuals, and blueprints to ensure that products meet the correct standards.
Able to spot issues and monitor products that do not meet compliance.

Key Performance Indicators:

Monitoring operations for quality and safety:

Approve incoming material by confirming specifications (COA, labelling, packaging) and conduct visual inspections and sampling;
Quarantine non-conforming product;
Monitor the operations for quality and safety to ensure they meet the approved systems;
Monitor vessel discharges. Produce a vessel discharge report;
Monitor loading and off-loading of containers and vehicles, ensuring that proper quality inspections are conducted;
Coach employees (Tally Clerks) on proper inspection procedures.

Maintaining records of testing:

Maintain detailed records of the testing that’s been carried out, as well as relevant additional information, and various metrics such as the number of defective products produced each day;
Check results against specifications and COA’s – report on any non-conforming product.

Inspecting procedures:

Inspect operating electronic inspection equipment to ensure that all necessary procedures and products are inspected to a high standard.

Creating reports for Quality Manager:

From the data collected from inspections, QC Inspectors, create reports for the Quality Manager to highlight issues, detail the number of defective products being produced, and explain where improvements can be made.

Maintaining compliance:

Monitor operational areas, ensuring they meet health and safety compliance, and check that all materials meet the necessary quality, health and safety standards.
