SUMMARY:
Urgently looking for a Junior Procurement Officer in Pretoria West area.

Will start of as a temporary position but there might be possibility to go permanent.

Salary R12 500 -R15 000 per month

  • Matric (Grade 12 / Standard 10) or Equivalent (Required)
  • Degree/Diploma in Procurement Management (Required)
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a procurement role


Purpose of the job: Source, purchase and expedite goods and services for the company as required, compliant with the company’s policies and procedures, contextualized within a Quality Management System (ISO).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Sourcing of goods and services as per requirement
·         Ensure all purchases meet prescribed quality requirements (Material data sheets, quality & calibration certificates)
·         Ensure suppliers are compliant as per supplier selection requirements
·         Ensure goods are purchased at the best price, best quality & lead times appropriate per requirement
·         Maintain supplier files with relevant up to date documentation and certification
·         Maintain standards of Health & Safety
·         Supplier engagement in an effort of forming strategic partners for future business
·         Ensure new suppliers follow the supplier evaluation & selection process
·         Capture and process purchase orders on Sage Evolution
·         Ensure that purchase orders are entered with accurate & detailed information (Correct part numbers & GL codes)
·         When forwarding an official purchase order to a supplier, ensure that the supplier confirms receipt thereof
·         Negotiate best prices and discounts
·         Follow a three-quote system and an adjudication process for all high-level purchases.
·         Expedite orders as per expected delivery dates
·         Ensure all outstanding orders are followed up on and closed off system where applicable
·         Report on
-          Non-compliant suppliers
-          Value of purchases for each day
·         Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards and best practices
·         Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management
·         Continuous improvement
·         Knowledge of materials management best practices
·         Pro-active and driven towards meeting deadlines
·         Customer relationship management orientated
·         High levels of integrity, dependability and professional standards
·         Computer literate on MS Office applications
·         Knowledge and experience on a financial system
·         The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
·         The ability to add, subtract, multiply or divide quickly and correctly
·         Presenting information clearly and concise and confirm interpretation of information
·         Very high standard of communication skills both written and oral for the presentation of facts to superintendents and management
·         Written communication must be clear, concise, easy to read and comprehend
·         The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
·         The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to specific rule or set of rules (e.g. patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations)
·         Consistently develop the skills required to do the job

  • At least 2 years of work experience in a procurement role
Valid Driver’s license
