POSITION INFO:

3 month Contract to Perm - Junior Portfolio Manager – Short-term Insurance / Underwriting / Claims
Boutique cell captive insurance provider is looking for a Junior Portfolio Manager.
Duties:
Successfully implement operational plans in context of the commercial insurance business plan to assist in achieving the required operational results
Liaise between the holding company, the cells and the UMA to monitor the performance of the cell. Ensure all reports are received
Compliance: monitor all reporting from the cells.
Maintain and renew a knowledge and understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensure own work adheres to required standards. Continually monitor and review the operational standards (Operating Procedures) to maintain the correct quality of operational activities and stimulate continuous improvement.
Contribute to stakeholder engagement through identifying potential new clients, finding out their needs / issues / concern and reacting to these by arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment. Engage with all relevant people / other departments in the claims business and co-ordinate relevant inputs (people, systems and processes) to achieve or improve the required results (on time and according to the relevant quality standards).

Requirements:
General Education: Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
FAIS Regulatory Qualification (Helpful)
RE 5; RE 1 (Advantageous)
Relevant 3 year Business or insurance industry related degree / diploma (Advantageous)
2 - 4 years’ experience within the insurance industry (Essential)
Understanding of contracts and insurance laws required
Strong understanding of underwriting

Salary: R20 000 - R30 000p.m
