Junior Plant Production Technician

SUMMARY:

An Agricultural Research and Development company is seeking a young candidate to be responsible for soil preparation, fertigation and planting activities of all the trial plots within the Groblersdal and surrounding areas.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a matric
• Farming experience is required
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Good communication and planning skills are essential
• Must be proficient in MS Office

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Attending to the daily activities relating to the production of crops.
• Developing growing programmes.
• Handling crop production, planting, fertilizing, irrigation and harvesting.
• Ensuring all farming equipment is maintained properly.
• Performing general maintenance and housekeeping of area of responsibility.
• Managing fertilizer and pest control programmes.
• Scheduling irrigation programmes.
• Driving ongoing continuous improvement focusing on detail around quality, volumes and yields.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
