Overview

We are looking for a junior PHP developer who is dedicated to their craft, writes clean code that they are proud of.

You must be able to write code to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that improves the codebase of our products for clients and customers. 

This role will give you the freedom of remote work while still feeling very much part of a team 

Minimum Requirements:

Matric

2 – 4 years professional development experience with PHP in 3+ with back-end experience

Able to integrate to REST APIs, using libraries like GuzzlePHP, SOAP-PHP and others

Custom PHP development from scratch experience

Object oriented and functional programming experience

Linux (Ubuntu) Command Line / SSH experience

Basic to intermediate MySQL query skills

PHP client-side API integration

Able to develop API interfaces

PHP MVC fundamentals (Laravel, CodeIgniter, Symfony etc.)

Able to perform basic version control commands and flows

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a team player with a keen eye for detail. Someone with excellent problem-solving skills. 

A strong independent worker, a great communicator that is able to take initiatives to move the company forward while also improving our internal practices where necessary. 

Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality

Develop unit testing of code components or complete applications

Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle

Develop, test and deploy new features to back-end services

Fixing of bugs

MySQL database optimization and monitoring

Work within a functional team reporting to a team lead to plan and deliver on required project plans and support tasks

Interface with server and infrastructure teams
