Our client, a successful Motocross team with over ten years of experience is seeking a young, enthusiastic Junior Motorcycle Mechanic with an RSA passport to join their professional motocross team. You will receive structured hands-on training while working alongside experienced mechanics, assisting in all aspects of motorcycle repair and maintenance. This role requires flexibility, as you will travel with the team to events, and high performers may have the chance for international exposure.
Remuneration:
R 8000 – R 10 000 pm depending on experience plus performance bonus and Medical Aid and training
POSITION INFO:
Duties Include:
- Report to the Senior Mechanic and Rider.
- Assist experienced mechanics with diagnosing and repairing motorcycles, including engines, electrical systems, suspension, and brakes.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks under supervision, such as oil changes, tire maintenance, and brake adjustments.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Document all repairs and services accurately.
- Participate in training sessions and technical workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Work closely with riders, supporting their mechanical needs and preparing bikes for events.
Requirements:- RSA passport and eligibility to travel.
- Aged 24 - 30
- Passion for motorcycles and eagerness to learn the trade.
- Prior experience or coursework in automotive or motorcycle repair.
- Knowledge of motorcycle safety and maintenance standards.
- Understanding the working of a motocross bike.
- Motivated, hardworking, and reliable with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions.
- Flexible and willing to travel with the team to events.
- Basic technical knowledge or prior exposure to mechanical work is advantageous.
- Good communication skills; ability to work as part of a team.
