Junior Merchandiser / Designer

SUMMARY:
Exciting opportunity for a Junior Merchandiser / Designer to join a vibey Fashion Apparel and Accessories Supplier based in Briardene, Durban.

POSITION INFO:

Junior Merchandiser / Designer

The role is best suited to a friendly/people person, they need to be able to build and maintain relationships with buyers/suppliers.

 Responsibilities

• Trending/newness - Develop new ranges
• AI/Photoshop digital graphics/CADs
• Graphic print creations
• Working with buyers (taking briefs, sending and following up on approvals, etc)
• Handle all sample costing/negotiations with suppliers
• Handle all costing confirmations in line with PM%- costings with buyers
• Process POs/PIs
• Process and approve all samples/ pre-production samples, including paperwork.
• Ensure suppliers are on track with samples/production for timeous delivery
• Inspection/AQL of goods once they arrive to ensure quality/spec. (as and when needed)

 Requirements

• 2+ years relevant experience in manufacturing/retail environment and/or merchandising/buying
• Competent computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
• Must have working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator programmes (Adobe).
• Must understand the concept of putting ranges together/ fashion trending and forecasting.
• Good time management, organisation skills, negotiation skills.
• People skills.
