SUMMARY:
A chemical analysis and mechanical testing laboratory has a vacancy for a technically minded person with excellent computer skills, matric Maths and Science.  Full training will be given on all methods and procedures in the laboratory.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:
  • Matric with Maths and Science
  • Must be a technically minded person
  • Excellent computer skills essential
  • Good English
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Training will be given on all methods and procedures in the laboratory.
  • Operating several different analytical computerised machines
  • Wet chemical analysis on metals, oxides and certain aqueous solutions
  • Spectrographic analysis on ferrous and non-ferrous products 
  • Mechanical testing includes tensile testing, compression, bend test, charpy impact testing and hardness testing
  • Operating mechanical machines i.e., bandsaws, grinders and drilling machines
  • Workshop or similar experience would be an advantage
