SUMMARY:
We are looking to expand our team with a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who is eager to learn and contribute to exciting engineering projects.

POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design team. The successful candidate will assist with the design, testing, and refinement of mechanical systems and components. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates or engineers with some industry experience who are looking to grow and develop their skills in mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components, using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
Support senior engineers in creating detailed technical drawings, models, and documentation.
Assist in performing basic calculations and simulations for component analysis (e.g., stress, thermal, or motion analysis).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet product specifications.
Participate in the prototype development process, including testing and validation of designs.
Conduct research to explore new materials and design methods that can improve product performance.
Help maintain design databases, engineering files, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
Attend design reviews and contribute to brainstorming and troubleshooting sessions.
Support the preparation of design reports and presentations for both internal teams and clients.

Required Qualifications:

A BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering
85% Matric average
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Eagerness to learn and develop skills in mechanical design and engineering.
