Junior Legal Team Leader (Cape Town)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

ØThe primary function of the Junior legal team leader is to support and guide the legal department in daily administrative tasks, have an in-depth understanding of the department, and be able to report on updates of all tasks.
ØAd hoc HR and Management requests.
ØGeneral administrative tasks and duties.
ØTelephonic and email attendances.
ØReports directly to the Head of Legal.
ØAbility to motivate, guide a team, demonstrate leadership.
ØKnowledge of the legal process, how to solve complex legal matters etc.
ØKeeping accurate Reporting – updating reports regularly, following up.
ØLiaising with external service providers for regular updates and providing feedback.
ØInternally drawing information from Credit reports, systems and updating internal and external providers.
ØMonitoring internal systems.
ØDiarize matters within the legal step.
ØRegular follow-ups.
ØSend legal letters/communication.
ØMonitor payment arrangements.
ØPrepare handover bundles.
ØMaintain electronic files.
ØHave knowledge of the insurance, civil litigation (foreclosure collections/litigation), extensive knowledge of credit law, company law, debt review, and its processes, conveyancing knowledge and experience, and deceased estates knowledge.

Qualification and Experience: 

ØMatric/Grade 12 essential.
ØLLB Degree or similar qualification.
Ø2 - 3 Years’ experience in a junior leadership role.
ØMicrosoft Office experience.
ØNumbers orientated to understand basic calculations.
ØProficient with Microsoft Outlook to follow up on/respond to email queries.
ØGood communication skills to interact with clients/service providers, etc.
ØMust be able to work under pressure.
ØGood command of the English language.
ØLiaising with various departments.
ØConflict resolution management.
ØStrong administration skills.
