Opportunity Available!! Our well known client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Junior Industrial Engineer to join their dynamic team in East London.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description:

Ensure adherence to project and timing plans in line with the Product development timing programs.
Ensure that Industrial and Mechanical Engineering activities are performed to meet project and Quality Planning requirements.
To monitor, measure and report on production performance.
Provide support of Industrial engineering to the manufacturing function.
To ensure high standards in the introduction of new plant layouts of facilities and equipment in the manufacturing plant
Ensure that Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental requirements are met at all stages of process planning and product industrialisation.
Continuous improvement in all aspects in the Manufacturing plant (Paint /Assembly / Plating Departments
The determination of resource and facility requirements
To ensure that continuous improvement activities are implemented throughout the Finishing Plant .
Performance in accordance with project and quality timing plans.
The studies of work and motion during product industrialisation and product design.
High quality and standards of Industrial engineering activities.
Optimization in all aspects of production outputs.

Key Performance Area:

Conducting time studies and setting targets for production through standardisation of work.
Support in the design of facilities, line and plant layouts.
Generate Process Input Sheets to define process steps and cycle times.
Collect data for the development of labour and facility requirements coursing capacity planning.
Facilitate jigs & fixtures design and fabrication.
Improving material handling and ergonomics in all production processes.
Develop and standardise work instructions sheets.
Conduct production trials and studies through activity sampling.
Process training and implementation at shopfloor level
Strive for Continuous Improvement through lean manufacturing initiatives.
Planning of Daily production in the Paint and Assembly departments as per customer forecast and Finished goods stock levels .
To ensure Production is aware of low stock levels that can cause risk of supply to the customer
To ensure Production boards are kept updated and new sheets are generated timeously .
Collect data and generate graphs /Trends on quality defects and efficiency as requested.
Hourly monitoring of efficiency in the finishing plants using simulation excel sheets .
Updating Kaizen boards and getting involved with Kaizen activities

Job Requirements:

National Diploma Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or Production Management.
Five years experience in Industrial engineering in the automotive manufacturing environment
Good excel literacy (must be able to generate graphs /trends and excel spreadsheets )
