Junior IT Technician

SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will provide front line technical support on Tier 2 issues in the config workshop team predominantly. But not limited to providing support on customer customer service, troubleshooting via telephonic, remote support, fault finding, escalating and fault resolution.

POSITION INFO:

Technicial Knowledge and Requirements:

• Matric Grade 12
• Diploma in Information Technology, related qualification or demonstrated equivalent work experience. IT certificate in at least 1 or more technical areas of IT, including completion of the exam. e.g. A+ and N+ would be beneficial.  (Please attach all relevant qualifications)
• 3+ years’ progressive working experience in an IT support function, electronics component level exposure is a plus
• Solid grasp of the following technologies: Google Workspace, MS Office for Mac and PC, Active Directory, Sharepoint, service desk,  Printers and familiarity with Microsoft teams
• Good communicator and listener
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Hands-on, solutions driven and customer focused
• Use initiative and think out of the box
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Able to prioritise and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment
• Able to maintain confidentiality
• Problem solving abilities essential with attention to detail

• Ability to work in a pressurized environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer support during field visits or dispatches
• Assist in configuration of Company applications based on business requirments and on changing business requirements
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
• Develop configuration requirements document and obtain approval from business owners tie workflow to schedule;
• Produce timely and detailed service reports
• Document, develop and maintain configuration policies and processes
• Assist in system analysis, design, development and testing activities
• Provide support in developing, implementing and testing patch releases and system upgrades
• Operate the vehicle in a safely manner and use field automation systems
• Follow all company procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with technical teams and share information across the Company
• Participate as an interactive member of the ICT team
• Develop skills for the team, to ensure transfer of intellectual property
• Able to work outside of business hours and weekend work
