Junior IT Support Technician - Roodepoort

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A leading publisher in the South African School Book Market located in Roodepoort is looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to join their Team for a period of 12 months.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Mac OS environments.
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners.
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programmes.
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • People oriented attitude.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Abilities: Friendly and positive attitude when inter-acting with customers, guests, employees, answering the telephone etc.
  • 1 – 2 years of work experience.
  • Address issues regarding hardware, software and networking.
  • Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems.
  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting.
  • Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue.  Customise desktop applications to meet user needs.
  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Follow up with staff to ensure their systems are functional.
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests
  • Help create technical documentation and manuals.
