SUMMARY:
Seeking a Junior IT Auditor with a Nat Diploma in Internal Audit; Financial Information Systems or IT or B Comm. (Information Systems). Certifications such as CISA will be beneficial. Must have 1-2 years experience in Internal or External Auditing. This is an EE position with a large corporate in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

Under general supervision, perform a limited variety of clerical duties for functional groups involving compiling and arranging data, making standard computations, processing and coding documents and maintaining records and files.
Routines are generally prescribed and supervision is readily available.

Responsibilities

Perform IT general control effectiveness reviews including the following tasks:
- Assisting Senior IT Auditors / IT Audit Specialists with the documentation of the Control Adequacy Reviews.
- Confirm the operation of key internal controls through effectiveness testing (Control Effectiveness Reviews).
- Documentation of audit work according to department methodologies and standards.
- Preparation of draft audit reports.
Perform reviews on server operating systems including, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, AIX, UNIX, Solaris etc.
Assist with database reviews on SQL, Oracle and DB2 databases.

Requirements

Qualifications

National Diploma in Internal Audit; Financial Information Systems or IT or B Comm. (Information Systems).
Relevant professional certifications such as CISA will be beneficial.

Experience

At least 1 - 2 years IT Audit experience in an Internal or External Audit environment.

Knowledge / Skills

Understand and comply with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards on fieldwork.
Good knowledge of audit techniques.
Awareness of basic business processes.
Understand the importance of using technology to support the audit process.
Working knowledge of ACL or other data analysis tools.
Ability to processing transactions and conduct simple calculations.
Data collection and analysis.
Record keeping, filing and maintenance of databases.
Maintain work standards and quality verification.
