Junior HSE Officer - Christiana
Well established company in the meat industry, requires the services of a Junior HSE Officer to join their team.
Requirements:
Grade 12
SAMTRAC certificate (recommended)
Hazard identification and risk assessment experience (recommended)
Incident investigation
HACCP standards
FSSC22000 standards
ISO 14001, 45001 (advantageous)
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and risk control standards i.e. OHS Act
Good statutory knowledge – Health/Safety / Labour Relations / SANS / ISO
Sound knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems
Ability to plan, organise, co-ordinate and facilitate
Strong investigative and initiating skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Ability to influence management to follow risk management strategies
Networking skills (ability to engage stakeholders)
Computer skills (Outlook/Excel)
Valid driver’s licence
Responsibilities:
Assist HSE Manager with implementation of HSE & Food safety procedures
Assist area managers with job observations as needed
Assist the training department with internal HSE and FS Training
Assist the HSE Manager with internal audits
Assist HSE Manager with mandatory testing (Load test, pressure test, water and food sampling, etc.)
Assist HSE Manager with the implementation of controls
Hazard identification and communication to the HSE manager.
Preliminary Incident investigations
Complete and submit IOD documentation to the HSE manager
Administrative duties
Monitor monthly inspections.
Communicate issues to and from the HSE reps and managers.
Monitor work flow document files and Print Workflow documents as needed.
Salary:
Basic salary R8 000 to R10 000 (based on experience), medical aid, provident fund, bonus
