We are recruiting for a junior level Fitter and Turner with trade test qualification. Career growth opportunity within a Manufacturing concern based in Durban.
Role summary
Responsibilities will cover total maintenance of all manufacturing and factory equipment, and fault finding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment and the modifications thereof.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- Matric or N3, Plus Trade Test Certificate, “Red seal” (Fitter/Turner)
- 2-3 years Maintenance/Fitter experience in manufacturing industry.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent Communication Skills, verbal and written
- PC literacy, MS Office Excel, Word, Cad.
- Ability to do fault finding and work on your own.
- Gearbox, maintenance and adjustments
- Mechanical, Hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
- Knowledge and replacement of bearings, chains and tensioners.
- Auto lubricators.
- Knowledge of different types of grease and oil
- Maintenance on Fluid Filling equipment, pumps
- Maintenance on industrial printing machines, rollers etc.
- Maintenance on Hoists and Lifting equipment.
- Knowledge and maintenance on Hydraulic equipment.
- Knowledge and maintenance on Pneumatic equipment.
- Use of root cause analysis tools and implementation of Permanent corrective actions.
- Knowledge of using workshop equipment to machine parts, ie. Lathes, milling machines, grinders, welding machines etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Communication and working relationships
- Perform any mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and installation on factory equipment.
- Quick response to breakdowns.
- Adhere to safety requirements.
- Responsible for the equipment start up, well-being and uptime.
- Carry out FPS requirements on shop floor level, housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained and operated properly and safely.
- Apply continuous improvement to equipment to prevent breakdowns.
